If it comes to being whisked off into a lively world full of fascinating discoveries – no matter in a visitor centre, a themed attraction or a science centre – most probably Hüttinger will have been involved. The family business Hüttinger GmbH from Schwaig near Nuremberg has been in existence since 1921. Their sophisticated product portfolio reaches from the stand-alone model for a fair up to the entire equipment for exhibitions and information centres.

The machines available play a particularly crucial part in the effective handling of all this. Apart from other units, such as a 3-axes CNC machine or a water jet cutter, Hüttinger is also working with a 5-axes centre from Reichenbacher. This CNC line is intended to ensure the highly dynamic machining of components from a wide variety of materials at best quality.

  • Machine dimensions (X / Y / Z) approximately 7,400 x 4,800 x 3,500 mm
  • Portal passage: height between top edge of table and bottom edge of portal 700 mm
  • Displacements: X1/2 = 4,540 mm; Y  = 2,160 mm; Z = 780 mm
  • Speeds: X = 60 m/min; Y = 60 m/min; Z = 20 m/min
  • Grooved aluminium table
  • 5-axes working unit, power 15 kW, HSK-F63 suited for thread-cutting, incl. blasting nozzles and torque support, speed 0 – 24,000 rpm
  • Automatic plate magazine for 24 tools
  • Pick-up-place for saw blades up to 400 mm that moves along above the tool magazine
  • Siemens control type Sinumerik 840D sl (Safety Integrated) with portable hand-held unit HBG, connection cable 3.5 m
  • Laser projector for positioning the vacuum clamping areas and the com-ponents on the machine table
  • Elevated cable chain in the X-direction; accessibility to the rear side of the machine guaranteed

Manufacturing & Technology

This unit of the VISION series has exactly been developed in line with the re-quired features: a 4-column portal unit with Gantry drive and grooved alumin-ium table. The particular technical highlights of the machine have essentially been derived from the specific challenges made by Hüttinger. The elevated po-sition of the cable chain permits easier cleaning of the machine, where many different materials, such as wood, aluminium, GRP, composites and also plexi-glass, are processed. Owing to its longer Z-axis, this machine can handle com-ponents up to cubicle dimensions of 520 mm.

View of the overall line

This VISION is equipped with a plate magazine for 24 tools and a pick-up-place for a saw up to a maximum diameter of 400 mm that moves along. Its 5-axes technology permits the component to be completely processed in a single clamping operation and at utmost precision
